Last Sunday I attended the Aimee Connolly master class in Harvey's point along with my friends and my sister. It was a great girly day out for those of you who don't know who Aimee Connolly is,she's a makeup artist based in Dublin she's worked with well known brands such as urban decay and Mac she currently has her own slot on expose every Thursday. Aimee started off by introducing herself to everyone she then asked all of us what would we like to cover/learn today some of us were a little bit shy to say anything but a majority of the class wanted to learn about achieving a eyeliner flick, smokey eye, contouring and eyebrows.Aimee then came around to see our makeup bags and see what products we use she even recommended a foundation for my sister who has quite pale skin and finds it really hard to get a shade to suit her Aimee suggested that she tries out Nw10 by Mac which is a range they brought out to suit Irish skin tones. So Aimee began into the demonstration she started off with a nice natural everyday look. Aimee explained each thing step by step she started off by priming the models skin, next she applied the foundation she suggested a few different foundations such as the Rimmel match perfection foundation which is prefect for those who have dry skin she also mentioned that she finds Double wear by Estée Lauder dries out the skin. Next Aimee applied an eye primer to keep the eyeshadow in place and last all day long she used mac's painting pot. Aimee then moved onto contouring she advised that you always blend towards your lips to give you more of a definition and always to use a matte bronzer such as benefit hoola bronzer which is great for contouring. when applying the bronzer Aimee used the 109 Mac Brush in soft circular motions. Up next was highlighter ! When your highlighting apply it in a V shape just above your cheek bones if you tend to use a cream highlighter it's best to dot it quite quickly onto your skin. Aimee let us practice applying our makeup she went around each of us individually to see how we apply our makeup what products we use and how we use them and she tells you what your doing wrong I wasn't blending my contour line towards my lips so Aimee showed me quickly how to and I was good to Go. Blusher okay I personally tend to avoid blusher due to my red cheeks but Aimee said she finds A lot of her clients do this so she suggests that you apply blusher as it contrasts with the Redness of your skin. The blusher that Aimee used was springsheen Mac a little tip is always to brush your blusher back in line with your contour as you want your makeup to look seamless. Brows I always say brows are a personal thing some people like them over drawn or natural. For higher coverage gels work best for more of a natural look powder and wax work best and to tidy up any mistakes use concealer. Aimee the moved onto the eyes she told us what colours suit what eye colour such as those who have green eyes red or purple work best. Aimee also stated when doing a smokey eye and to have that definition make sure not to use a shimmer shade that matte shades work best and always work darkest to lightest when creating a smokey eye. Eyeliner for eyeliner Aimee used inglots 77 gel liner to apply it she used an angle brush by AYU. Next Aimee moved onto lips she used the shade whirl by Mac which is a nice everyday neutral shade to tidy up any mistakes around your lips Aimee used a clean brush or you can use concealer. Aimee also spoke about sleeks matte me range and applied the product let me tell you them shades are eye catching for sure.Make sure to moisturise your lips though as matte lipsticks tend to dry out your lips. Now we ourselves were allowed to complete the rest of our makeup looks and Aimee came around to see our complete looks. Aimee also had all of the products that she used on display so we could go up and take pictures of them if there was anything that we liked in particular. I really had a great time I learned new things it was great fun with my friends and my sister they all really enjoyed it. Aimee was so nice and was great at explaining everything. We all got goodie bags as well which was a lovely thing to have I've added a picture down below so you can see what I got. I hope you all enjoyed this little post and I will see you all soon ! Oh and make sure to catch Aimee on expose every Thursday you don't want to miss out.
Until Next Time Bee's Queen Bee.

You are definitely the master at this, and I respect you. I know that you took a lot of time before you were able to reach these heights and I am impressed. It is my dream to be the master of something, and I wish to learn from you. I want to get into your mind and dissect how it works. I promise you that I will be a good apprentice and that I will never cause you any trouble.
