A Taste Of Donegal..

A taste of Donegal food festival takes place every year from the 24th - 26th of August, this year was a rather special year as it marked the 10th anniversary of the festival over the years the festival has grown from strength to strength this year alone there was over 130 exhibitors from all over the country it’s a great way to network, browse, taste and purchase a wide variety of produce. Since I attended with my family I thought it would be a great idea to share with you some of the items that I purchased.

• Mallow Mia are a handmade confectionary business located in donegal I was quite pleased once I seen their stand as I had recognised mallow Mia from social media I purchased their rocky road treat box I selected 5 of their rocky roads which are all made fresh using their homemade marshmallows and belgian chocolate. I shared these with my mum and they were yummy my personal favourite was the raspberry and white chocolate.  https://mallowmia.com

• Long Meadow cider are an award winning artisan Irish craft cider which produced on a family run farm in county armagh they have various ciders to choose from I couldn’t make my mind up so I selected four of their ciders two honey and rhubarb, blossom burst and a medium cider.

• Harrys dog bakery create homemade organic dog treats so I decided to purchase their peanut butter flavour treats for rocky and missy at first they weren’t too keen on the treats but once I broke the treats in half they loved them!  https://www.harrysdogbakery.com

I do advise attending the festival as you will come across so many unique business and its a great way to try out new produce, the gastro house pub based on the main street In donegal were creating some of their most popular cocktails from their menu which my sister and her boyfriend tried out and they kindly gave us a voucher to where you can receive a cocktail free with your meal, their was various demonstrations throughout the weekend such as a gin master class with the sliabh Liag distillery team, you may even bump into a few celebrity chefs such as Neven Maguire, Kevin Dundon and Gary O’Hanlon who all done live demonstrations during the course of the festival.
